The best material is the one that suits real use, budget, room conditions and willingness to care for it—not simply the highest price.
Confirm the material and where it is used
Ask whether genuine leather, synthetic upholstery or a combination is used, including the back and sides. A marketing name alone may not be enough for a price comparison. Match the material code, physical sample and quotation details.
Compare feel and daily use
Try the seating and sample surface, comparing sheen, grain and colour with the room. Do not choose from a distant photo alone. Tell the team about nearby windows, pets and frequency of use so you can discuss materials and care guidance appropriate to those conditions.
Follow the selected finish’s care instructions
Check the chosen material manufacturer’s instructions before using a conditioner or cleaner. Genuine and synthetic finishes may require different care. Ask the team if the guidance is missing, and avoid experimenting with a product on a prominent part of the furniture.
Compare prices with the specification attached
Request prices for the same dimensions and design, specifying the material code and all areas covered by it. Check delivery inclusions and warranty terms. Different materials or construction details can change the quotation even when the silhouettes look similar.
